LATEST PANDEMOS NEWS 3rd March 2010
Over the past few weeks I've been experimenting with the ad spaces down the right-hand side of our directory, photo gallery, video gallery and other pages. I am now pleased to announce that after this work I have two new text ad options for advertisers.
Option 1 - Free Text Ads
Very similar to the text ads that we were running until recently, these free ads can be used to promote something relevant to a specific directory page. For example, a Domina might use them to promote a visits to other cities, or a club could use it to promote an event. As well as on the geographic directory pages, these type of ads can also be placed on the asian, black, latina, transgender and Christian Domina pages. You can sign up for one of these ads here.
Option 2 - Sponsor Text Ads
These ads are similar to the above but appear across all pages, rather than specific ones. These can be used to promote anything femdom or fetish related, but are perhaps best suited to things that aren't dependent on the geographical location of the surfer. For example, this could be pay sites or distance-domination services. These ads cost £20/$30 per months and discounts are available. You can find more information here.

Yesterday, I introduced some changes to the points system which determines rankings in the directory listings and influences Domina of the Day. The main points of the changes are as follows:
1. Greater recognition for Dominas who support Pandemos, either financially, by setting up a Pandemos free site or in other ways.
2. Points are now given to Dominas who link to Pandemos from their main website. Double-points are given if the link is on your front page. At present, all sites are presumed to be linking back but i'll gradually review this over the next few months and remove points from any sites that aren't.
3. Extra points are now given if you provide information for our tribute survey.
4. Twitter is no longer an element in the calculations.

You can now list a sub-location alongside the main location in your directory entry. This is aimed at Dominas in cities who wish to be more specific as to their location. For example, if you're in New York, you might want to specify 'Manhattan' as a sub-location, or if in London you could specify 'Chelsea'.

If you've noticed the site running slowly in recent days it's because a bunch of Asian Fusker-style sites have been trying to rip all the images off the site and putting the server under extreme load. We've pretty much managed to negate their efforts now and things should be running normally again, but drop us a line if you're still experiencing any problems.

We have today made some changes to the way in which banners are displayed on the front page of the site.
Up until now, anyone who puchased banner advertising received a free fixed banner placement on the front page. Unfortunately, this has now become a victim of its own success, with the front page growing in size to over 3MB and using over 12GB bandwidth a day!
To address this we have replaced all the fixed spots with four that display the banners randomly. While this reduces the number of times your banner is displayed, the smaller number of spots makes them more likely to be clicked on, so the net effect is that there should be no diffrence in traffic received.
We are also aware that some customers use these spots for the SEO value in having a permanent hardlink from Pandemos to their sites. So that this isn't disrupted, all advertisers have also been given a text link on the page, which should serve this purpose better than the banner.

All directory listings have now been re-ranked in accordance with our new points system, which is designed to reflect individual Dominas' support of Pandemos, some of the webslave's preferences and some other factors. The rankings are not designed to convey to the public the idea that any Domina is 'better' than another in any way.

We have today introduced some changes to our Domina of the Day feature. Up until now, the DOTD has been posted to the blog and Yahoo! group. As the blog was somewhat underused, a separate DOTD section has been added to the site here.
This contains a list of the previous month's winners, together with month-by-month listings since DOTD was introduced at the start of the year.
In addition, the DOTD will now have Her photo and listing description/links posted to the front page of Pandemos at http://pandemos.net
Tips on improving your chances of becoming DOTD will be added in due course, but feel free to email me if You what some pointers in the meantime.
